Not just another night out [[Olive and Summer]]

It's been more than a good night, it's been exactly the night that Rebekah's been needing. Everything from the decision to go out together to the way they'd all gotten ready at Rebekah's apartment, swapping dresses and makeup and dancing to the cds that Olive had brought. Even the time at the club had been good. There'd been drinks, dancing and a few boys who'd thankfully gotten the hint when the girls made it clear that they weren't there to flirt.

Really, she should have known it had been going too well. These sorts of things never worked out for her and this should be no exception. They were still a few blocks away from Rebekah's when she heard the footsteps behind them. At first she thought it was someone else walking home the way they were, but as they became loud enough for even the other girls to hear she knew that it wasn't just a coincidence. She's about to say something, to hurry them along to a better lit area when there's laughter and running. She turns in time to see three men coming at them, two of them brandishing knives.

"C'mon little ladies. Hand over your bags or we'll take 'em and you won't like that."

"You're what?" Summer is quick to blurt out, expression twisting in confusion more so than disbelief. She's seen a lot of strange things since she showed up here, this turn of events not even topping the list, so she probably shouldn't doubt Rebekah. Besides, what she's just seen goes beyond the realm of normal humans, anyway. Even so, that doesn't make it any easier to process, her instinct to think that it isn't even possible. She's just too used to living in a world where that's the case. "Oh — oh, my God."

"No," Olive says, shaking her head, "no, of course not." It's automatic to say it, but as she does, she knows it's true, too. She's never known someone who was a vampire, but she knows they exist, here if not at home, so it's not like she doesn't believe her. And Rebekah has never given her reason to think she's any kind of a threat. She's just been a good friend, and even if the idea of it is staggering, Olive was raised not to judge like that. She's not about to toss aside a friend because of what she is, even if she can't wrap her head around the idea of Rebekah having been around for over a thousand years.

"It's just... wow. Uh, a surprise."

"Yeah, tell me about it," Summer says, huffing out a breath. She's still shaken from the attack as it is, never mind how Rebekah managed to bring it to an end, making information like this all the more difficult to process. While she knows full well that a lot of weird things are possible here, though, she really doesn't have it in her to outright doubt what she's been told. She can't for a second think of why Rebekah would lie about it, anyway, or why she would look so earnest in doing so. It makes something in Summer's chest twist a little, in fact, expression then pulling into one that's nearly sympathetic. "But — no, God, I don't hate you. I mean, you did kind of save our asses just now. And it's not like you've tried to bite us or anything." Just saying that seems weird, and she pauses for a second. "Right?"

Olive's heart goes out to her. The whole thing is incredibly weird, and she's not entirely sure yet how she feels about it. What she is sure of, however, is that her friend is worried — scared, even — and that takes precedence even over the situation they're in. The police are close, and part of her just wants to leave, wiping her knife against her skirt before she slides it into its sheath, but she knows that looks even worse. Her friend's plight takes up more of her attention, though.

She heads over on an impulse, reaching for Bekah's hand. "Look, whatever that is, you're our friend. And Summer's right, you totally just saved our asses, and I am one hundred percent behind you."

"Yeah," Summer echoes, nodding once, though she stays put for now, solely because it's easier. It's not as if this is the first thing like this she's found out here, though vampirism is certainly different than the abilities Korra has. Still, she learned quickly, after showing up here, that she was going to have to roll with a lot, and that isn't going to change now. Rebekah is still a friend. She just also happens to be a lot older than she looks. "What she said. Definitely."

It'll look bad, Olive thinks, if they go and they're caught anyway, but maybe if they hurry they won't have to deal with that. She nods, taking a deep breath as she starts down the street again. "Quickly," she says, reaching out for Rebekah's hand. If they didn't have to move quickly, she'd hug her, reassure her they mean it, but this will have to do.

"Yeah, no, we — we should," Summer says, nodding in quick agreement, hurrying to catch up to the other two once she's slipped her shoe back on. She won't be much good for making good time with only one heel on, and if they're going to go, they need to actually do it. Ordinarily, she'd think it wouldn't be the wisest idea, since it's not like they did anything wrong here, but there would be a lot to explain, and she doesn't want to have to explain it, even when she isn't the one who pulled a knife or broke a wall with someone's head. "Probably better."
