It's been more than a good night, it's been exactly the night that Rebekah's been needing. Everything from the decision to go out together to the way they'd all gotten ready at Rebekah's apartment, swapping dresses and makeup and dancing to the cds that Olive had brought. Even the time at the club had been good. There'd been drinks, dancing and a few boys who'd thankfully gotten the hint when the girls made it clear that they weren't there to flirt.
Really, she should have known it had been going too well. These sorts of things never worked out for her and this should be no exception. They were still a few blocks away from Rebekah's when she heard the footsteps behind them. At first she thought it was someone else walking home the way they were, but as they became loud enough for even the other girls to hear she knew that it wasn't just a coincidence. She's about to say something, to hurry them along to a better lit area when there's laughter and running. She turns in time to see three men coming at them, two of them brandishing knives.
"C'mon little ladies. Hand over your bags or we'll take 'em and you won't like that."

That is not an option, she knows that, knows there are things that she cannot do so easily in this place even with her ability to compel people to forget what she wishes. Rebekah is trying very hard to not consider compelling her friends to forget all of this. Friendship, real friendship, she’s learning is hard.
The second attacker she doesn’t afford that consideration, Sheforces his eyes toward her, putting her will behind her words. “You’re going to stay here until the police come. You’re going to tell them what you did tonight and then you’ll confess to every other crime you’ve ever committed. You’ll take whatever punishment they meet.”
“Yes…” He responds quavering, and Rebekah smiles, letting him go. Not that her smile is any less terrifying, though she can feel that her fangs have receded and her face is back to its usual. When he sits, she turns toward Olive, wondering if she should help or if the sound of sirens and a knife in his leg will stop their attacker.

"Is that the police?" she asks, catching the sound of sirens. The third man starts trying to stagger away, injury and all, and she's not about to go after him.

Date: 2013-08-27 12:26 pm (UTC)She knows that's not the question Summer is asking but she hope that the police will get here and it will pass. It might have succeeded had that third man not lunged back toward them. No matter what she was worried about, Rebekah can't let anyone hurt her friends. She moves inhumanly fast to catch him by the neck. "You'll never attack anyone ever again. You'll dedicate your life to peace."

Date: 2013-08-31 10:42 am (UTC)The sirens are getting closer, and she doesn't want to have them looking at her like this. Rebekah knows she could compel them to forget this ever happened as well, but that's a line she desperately doesn't want to cross. "I'm a vampire."

"Oh, my God. Wait, seriously? I mean, not that I think you're lying, but... jeez."

Date: 2013-09-08 12:16 pm (UTC)"It's alright. Really, it's fine." Even as she insists it she knows it's a lie. Rebekah can here that her voice is too high and her words too quick. She holds her hands up and open, not wanting them to think she's a threat even though they know what she can do now. "I've just- I've never had a normal life. It's been over a thousand years and I've never had real friends. I thought if you knew-"
She purses her lips, stopping her face from crumpling just barely. She's lied to them and that's something she understands too often just can't be forgiven. "I thought if you knew that you'd hate me."

Date: 2013-09-12 12:30 pm (UTC)"No, of course not," she rushes to say. There are few things that she can guarantee, but that she'd never feed off her friend if not entirely necessary is one. "I wouldn't do that. I'm trying to be normal, to live a normal life. It's harder than I thought. More tempting to be... To be what I am."

Date: 2013-09-15 06:51 am (UTC)She heads over on an impulse, reaching for Bekah's hand. "Look, whatever that is, you're our friend. And Summer's right, you totally just saved our asses, and I am one hundred percent behind you."

Date: 2013-09-17 06:59 am (UTC)"Really?" Her face is scrunched up and she's trying her hardest not to cry. It's relief for the most part, but also that she's never had real friends before, other than her brothers. Not before she was a vampire and not since. Any friendship she did start Niklaus promptly destroyed. "Thank you."
That, however, is only so important with the sound of steps approaching. "Should we go? Before we can't, that is."
